Learners who completed training often struggled to execute complex multi-step procedures independently on the job. Training provided foundational knowledge, but employees needed instant, accessible guidance at the moment of need without stopping work to review full manuals.
2. Target Audience
Frontline staff and classroom teachers who required rapid procedural clarity during active work routines. Information needed to be scannable in under 15 seconds.
3. My Role & Process
Designed a series of performance support tools:
- Identify: Partnered with subject matter experts to isolate high-error procedures and decision points.
- Design: Applied information design principles to structure complex workflows into clean, color-coded visual decision trees.
- Develop: Created printed quick-reference cards, laminated desk aids, and interactive digital PDFs.
- Test: User-tested designs with staff in active work environments and refined iconography and plain-language wording.
